# Live event report

When you run a live event, you can follow user progress in real time during the event and review the full results afterwards. This page covers both.

### During the event: the live event dashboard

Open the dashboard from the invite's page with [**Go to live dashboard**](https://docs.instruqt.com/tracks/share/run-live-events/instructor-tools). While the event is running, it shows:

* **Who joined** – attendance at a glance: users joined, active right now, and completed.
* **Where everyone is** – each user's current track and challenge, with their progress.
* **Who needs attention** – help indicators show who raised their hand and who has gone inactive, and for how long.
* **What each user has done** – a log of actions such as starting the lab, starting or completing a challenge, skipping a challenge, and failed attempts.

The dashboard updates every 5 seconds. You can filter by track, challenge, or user, and search users by name or email.

{% hint style="info" %}
**What "active right now" counts:** participants with a session in progress – their sandbox is still available (running or paused) and they have not yet completed their track. It measures who is still part of the event, independent of what each learner is doing at this moment. To see when each learner last moved forward, use the **Last active** column in the [invite activity report](https://docs.instruqt.com/reporting/invite-activity-report), which updates on recorded progress events.
{% endhint %}

Click the view icon on a user's row to open their activity page. It has three tabs: **Screen & Chat** (ask the user to share their screen, and message them directly), **Activity log** (the user's step-by-step timeline – the same entries as the invite activity report), and **Sandboxes** (the user's environments and their state).

See Live event dashboard for the full walkthrough, including messaging users and screen sharing.

### After the event: the activity report

Once your event is finished, open the invite's details page and click **View activity report**. Live events run on track invites, so this is the invite activity report – one expandable row per user, with the full timeline of what they did: when they claimed the invite, each play they started, and every challenge they entered, completed, or skipped.

See Invite activity report for what each entry in the report means.

### Exporting event results

Click **Activity CSV** on the activity report to download a summary with one row per play: who played, when they started and finished, time spent, challenges completed out of total, failed attempts, and any registration form fields the user submitted.

Use the export to process results in your own tools – for example, to share completion results with the event organizer or import attendance into your CRM.

### Downloading the chat history

If chat was used during the event, you can also download the chat history: open the Live Dashboard and click **Chat History** in the top-right corner. The download includes messages to all users as well as direct messages, each with the sender's name and timestamp. Chat history is available for 30 days after the session.
